Provided is a method comprising a procedure for electrofusing a cell and a giant unilamellar liposome encapsulating an object, the method serving as a method for the intracellular introduction of an object with which even an object that is relatively large in size can be easily introduced without compromising cell survival when compared to prior art. This method comprises a first procedure for applying an alternating-current electrical field to a mixture of the cell and a giant unilamellar liposome encapsulating an object, and a second procedure for applying a direct-current pulse electrical field to the mixture after the first procedure. According to this method, the intracellular introduction of an object 100 nm in diameter or larger is possible.
