[Class 38 (v)] A contact assembly comprises contact springs 1 riveted to a ceramic base 2 and adapted for op-operation with fixed contacts formed by conducting material which is sprayed on to the ceramic material and burnt on. In this process a layer of silver is sprayed on the whole of the fixed contact part and then a layer of platinum is sprayed on to the actual contacting portion 4 and a layer of copper is sprayed on to the part 5 which has a recess 6 to facilitate soldering on a lead.
