The invention relates to a method for establishing a wireless connection between a first transceiver in a trailer (12) having an electronic braking system on the one hand and at least one second transceiver outside of the trailer (12) on the other hand, wherein the first transceiver is assigned to an electronic control unit (14, 22) in the trailer (12), and wherein the trailer (12) is coupled to a towing vehicle (10) and a wired connection (15, 16, 17) exists, via which signals can be transmitted from the towing vehicle (10) to the trailer (12). According to the invention, the following steps are provided: a) a trigger signal is generated in the towing vehicle (10) and is transmitted in wired fashion to the control unit (14, 22) in the trailer (12); b) once the trigger signal has been received in the control unit (14, 22) of the trailer (12), the first transceiver establishes a preliminary connection to the at least one second transceiver, c) the at least one second transceiver indicates by means of an output unit the preliminary connection or a different type of confirmation request, d) if a signal reaches the trailer (12) within a defined period of time as confirmation of the confirmation request, a permanent connection between the first transceiver and the second transceiver is established. |
