<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a voltage drop of retention volume of an electrophoretic display device to a predetermined range independently of temperature. <P>SOLUTION: A driving method for an electrophoretic display device drives an electrophoretic display device (1) which includes a display part (3) composed of a plurality of pixels (20) respectively regulated correspondingly to intersections between a plurality of scanning lines (40) and a plurality of data lines (50) and temperature detection means (111) for detecting an environmental temperature. Each of the plurality of pixels is arranged between a pixel electrode (21) and a counter electrode (22) which are arranged opposite to each other and includes an electrophoretic element (23) including electrophoretic particles and retention volume (27) for temporarily holding a pixel signal supplied to the pixel electrode. In the driving method, when a detected environmental temperature is a first temperature, a one-frame period is set as first time, and when the detected environmental temperature is a second temperature higher than the first temperature, the one-frame period is set as second time shorter than the first time. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
