<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an arc tube small in dispersion of brightness and life; and a light source device. <P>SOLUTION: A root-side part 86d of an electrode 86A is sandwiched from both sides along a direction AB vertical to an electrode axis AX. Then, fixed parts SW are formed on both foil plates 84e and 84f. By sandwiching and fixing the root-side part 86d of the electrode 86A between the two foil plates 84e and 84f, the electrode 86A and an electrode mounting part 84a are arranged rotationally-symmetrically around the electrode axis AX along the electrode axis AX of a first conductive member 73A, and fixation of the electrode 86A in the electrode mounting part 84a is stabilized. As a result, the electrode 86A is prevented from being tilted with respect to the electrode axis AX based on metal foil members 87A and a lead wire 88A in sealing by a shrink seal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
