<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a price determination system and method for satisfying the request of a purchaser who wants to purchase merchandise as inexpensively as possible and the request of a seller who does not want to get involved in the price competition of the market. <P>SOLUTION: Each time accepting order and identification information from a purchaser terminal 5, a management part 3a associates order and identification information with the acceptance order of the order, and stores it in a storage device 2 in a period shown by period information. When the period shown by the period information ends, a price determination part 3b determines the discount rate of merchandise to be applied to the order. At the time, the price determination part 3b sets the discount rate of the merchandise applied to the order so as to be higher according as the acceptance order associated with the order is early.
