<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling device which can be mounted on an existing processing apparatus and allows a coolant to flow into the optimum target position of a processing tool in accordance with a program. <P>SOLUTION: The variable position nozzle assembly 101 can position a nozzle so as to inject the coolant into the target position of a processed area. The coolant is introduced into a target place by controlling an orbiting nozzle 105<SB>n</SB>in a desired direction by an interlock of a stationary guide 107 and a controlling plate 109.
