PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lever type connector in which a lever does not come off during normal lever operation for fitting connectors. SOLUTION: When the rotation position of a lever 500 where an engagement pin 21 can be received into an inlet 514a of a cam groove 514, when fitting connector housings 101 and 201 to each other, is made to be the rotation start position, and the rotation position of the lever 500, when completely fitting connector housing 101 and 201 to each other by rotation operation of the lever 500, is made to be the rotation termination position; the assembling position where the lever 500 can be assembled into the connector 101 is set outside the range of the normal lever rotation operation between the rotation start position and the rotation termination position for fitting and separating the connector housings 101 and 201.
