PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems of two disadvantages, (1) losses of the material cost and the manufacturing cost attributable to the integration of components of a folding side face and a lid or the like with each other, and (2) easy dent of the side face by the external force because of the presence of a longitudinal center folding line in a foldable product as a returnable container having the longitudinal center folding line for reducing the volume during the return. SOLUTION: Upper and lower ends of the longitudinal center folding line of a casing side face of a returnable container during the conveyance in a laden condition are covered by aΠ-shaped middle-fold preventive sash, and the sash is allowed to slide in either right or left direction from the upper and lower ends of the longitudinal center folding line during the folding for reducing the volume during the return. The effect to the point (1) is recognized thereby, and a disadvantage (2) can be conquered thereby, and the bulky volume-reducing effect over that of a known returnable container can be achieved.
