The method involves determining wheel speed for each wheel (4.1-4.n) of a motor vehicle and differences in speeds of rotation between wheel numbers of the wheels by a wheel sensor (3.1). Tire pressure (p1) in each wheel is measured by a directly measured tire pressure control system, and another tire pressure for each of the wheel is estimated based on the differences in speeds of rotation by a characteristic diagram (6). A position (B1) of centre of gravity of the vehicle is determined by comparison between the two tire pressures.
