The system (1) has an electrical machine (2) i.e. roll motor, for driving a conveying roll (5). The conveying roll and or the electrical machine exhibit a damping ring (14) for oscillation damping. The electrical machine has a rotor (4) and a stator (3), and the conveying roll is arranged on a torque proof axle (6a) via a bearing bracket (10a), which is made of plastic. The stator is arranged on another torque proof axle (6b), where the axles are coupled together by using a claw coupling (8). The bearing bracket is supported on the former axle via a ball bearing.
