PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate specification of a failure portion in time of failure to rapidly and easily perform maintenance and replacement work. SOLUTION: This particle counter type smoke sensing device has a smoke-detecting light source 52 performing light irradiation to a smoke detection space; a smoke-detecting light-receiving element 53 provided at a position on which emission light from the smoke-detecting light source is not directly incident, receiving scattered light of smoke particles inside the smoke detection space; a light source-monitoring light-receiving element 55 receiving the emission light from the smoke-detecting light source passing through the smoke detection space; and a testing light source 54 irradiating the smoke-detecting light-receiving element with light reception-testing pulse light. A reflector 60 of light is provided in each of the middle of an optical path from the smoke-detecting light source to the light source-monitoring light-receiving element and the middle of an optical path from the testing light source to the smoke-detecting light-receiving element, and the smoke-detecting light source, the smoke-detecting light-receiving element, the light source-monitoring light-receiving element and the testing light source are disposed intensively on one side of the circumference with the smoke detection space as the center or on two adjacent sides.
