PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an on-vehicle navigation device capable of effectively suppressing suggestion of an unnecessary recommended route, consequently enabling to guide an own vehicle to a destination safely and smoothly along a recommended route really necessary to a user. SOLUTION: A new recommended route is not suggested, unless shortening of the required time to a destination by a new recommended route searched by a dynamic route search using traffic information by a route search means 24 becomes more than a threshold value corresponding to at least one of the following: required distance to a destination from a point at which the new recommended route is searched; required time to a destination from a point at which the new recommended route is searched; and, a road class on which the own vehicle is traveling when the new recommended route is searched.
