PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation capable of heightening U-turn determination accuracy and enhancing own vehicle position accuracy and its display accuracy. SOLUTION: When a navigation apparatus determines U-turns, the navigation apparatus determines the turning of a self-vehicle as not a U-turn, when the self-vehicle turns to the left in a road 100 in which vehicles travel on the left side and enters a parking lot 102, since the traveling direction matches the turning direction. Accordingly, this prevents a location A2 in the parking lot from matching a location in the road 100 in map matching so as to prevent degradation of accuracy in the succeeding computation of the position of own vehicle.
