PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner allowing maintenance work to be efficiently performed by securely recognizing the state of accumulation of dust in a dust cup. SOLUTION: The dust cup of the vacuum cleaner is provided with an inlet 6a for feeding air including dust, a dust screening part 7 including reference ribs 8a for capturing dust, and a window 5a for observing the quantity of dust. By fitting a projection of a cleaning holder of the dust screening part 7 into a recess in a lid of the dust cup, the dust screening part 7 is positioned in the circumferential direction relative to the lid of the dust cup, and the reference ribs 8a are disposed on the upstream side of the air flow relative to the window 5a.
