A golf swing training apparatus (100) for practicing a golf swing includes a sensor unit (104) and a frame (102). The sensor unit (104) includes a sensor (105) outputting a sensor beam in a substantially horizontal direction and a microcontroller in operable communication with the sensor (105), the microcontroller is configured to detect a break in the sensor beam. The sensor unit (104) further includes one or more visual indicators, wherein the one or more visual indicators are in operable communication with the microcontroller, and wherein the one or more visual indicators are activated in response to the break in the sensor beam. The frame (102) is coupled to the sensor unit (104) and includes a reflector (107) configured to reflect the sensor beam. A section of the frame (107) may be moved between a first position used to practice driving and a second position used to practice pitching and chipping.
