<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent image quality from being degraded due to a state of a space section on which sheet storage unit for storing sheets is mounted. <P>SOLUTION: The length of the space section 70 in a sheet conveying direction is shorter than the length of a sheet-feeding cassette 55 in a horizontal direction (sheet conveying direction), which is perpendicular to a removal direction of the sheet-feeding cassette 55. In other words, the space portion 70 has an opening A opened in two perpendicular directions successively. A first frame 13 has four frame supports 72 in the bottom, and these frame supports 72 are supported by a top surface 74 (region), which is upper outside in a vertical direction of the space section 70 of a second frame 14, from the lower part in the vertical direction, respectively.
