<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a component supplier excellent in usability, capable of omitting the time and labor for setting. <P>SOLUTION: The component supplier comprises a send-out device 51, a take-over device 61 and a controller 80, etc. , and sends components to a component supply position through a component supply tape 35 composed of a carrier tape 36 and a cover tape 37. Then, when a reel around which the tape is wound is exchanged or the like, in order to operate the component supplier anew, it is needed to mount the component supply tape 35 on the component supplier first and then perform a setting operation of setting the cover tape 37 to the take-over device 61. In this case, on condition that the setting operation is detected, the component supplier operates the take-over device 61.
