<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus, freely applying a PI method (parallel imaging method) to a section in an optional direction in an imaging method using a plurality of surface coils to thereby obtain a magnetic resonance image at a high S/N ratio or at high speed, and a high-frequency coil used in the apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: This magnetic resonance imaging apparatus obtains a magnetic resonance signal by the PI method using the high-frequency coil 14 including two or more coil units 142 arrayed in the static magnetic field direction (Z direction) and in the X-direction orthogonal thereto as a surface coil and an upper unit 140 and a lower unit 141 as a surface coil in the Y-direction. The upper unit 140 and the lower unit 141 are fixed to a subject by a band or the like to be easily applied thereto. The signals detected by the respective surface coils are transmitted to a data processing system by individually independent transmission systems, and imaged as a magnetic resonance image. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
