PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preparing a photosensitive lithographic printing plate suitable for drawing with a laser beam, giving stable sensitivity even immediately after production and exhibiting high sensitivity and high plate wear. SOLUTION: The method for preparing the photosensitive lithographic printing plate formed by successively laminating a photopolymerizable photosensitive layer containing an addition-polymerizable compound having an ethylenically unsaturated double bond, an alkali-soluble or alkali-swellable binder and a photopolymerization initiator, and an overcoat layer on a support, includes a step of heat treating the lithographic printing plate having the applied and dried photopolymerizable photosensitive layer at 30°C to 60°C.
