PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide spectacles in which the portions machined in order to show the lens thin hardly enters the field of view of a spectacles user and even the spectacles with rims can be smoothly employed, and to provide a spectacle lens. SOLUTION: The rear side of an ear side edge 11 of the spectacle lens is machined to make the thickness of the spectacle lens locally thin. Accordingly, the machined part 103 hardly enters the field of view of the spectacles user. Also, the difference in level of the machined part 103 comes in the shade of a frame to a person viewing the frame from the front and is hardly recognizable, and therefore, the spectacles are prevented from being less attractive.
