PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a liquid crystal display device for a three-dimensional image display or for a dual picture image display, which is compact and easily manufacturable, and which is economical. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method includes: sealing an array substrate with a plurality of array substrate regions 21<SB>11</SB>formed thereon and a color filter substrate with a plurality of color filter substrate regions 31<SB>11</SB>formed thereon with a sealing material 23 so as to make peripheries of respective regions be surrounded by the sealing material 23; reducing thickness of a color filter substrate surface to previously determined thickness; arranging an electrode for driving with an alignment layer on the thinned second substrate surface; applying a sealing material 23' on the periphery of the electrode for driving; subsequently placing a counter substrate, with a plurality of counter substrate regions 41<SB>11</SB>formed thereon, on the sealing material 23', and hardening the sealing material 23'; cutting off the array substrate, the color filter substrate, and the counter substrate at predetermined positions; and sealing a liquid crystal between the respective cut-off array substrates and color filter substrates, and between the respective cut-off color filter substrates and counter substrates.
