PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the deterioration of a display element provided in a display element substrate by suppressing the temperature rising of the display element in an electro-optical device which has a configuration, having a color filter substrate disposed facing the display element substrate. SOLUTION: In the electro-optical device 1, having a configuration where a display element substrate 35 provided with a display element 21 and a color-filter substrate 36, provided with color filter layers 37 different by color and light-shielding layers 32 demarcating the color filter layers 37 are stuck to each other so that the display element 21 side and the color filter layer 37 side face each other, metal layers 39 are provided on the display element 21 side of color filter layers 37 of the color filter substrate and are disposed at positions that at least partially overlap the light-shielding layers 32 in planar view.
