PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To repair a radioactive substance containing cask in a short time without allowing an operator to approach radioactive substances even if the seal structure of a primary lid deteriorates. SOLUTION: This radioactive substance containing cask is constituted in such a dual seal structure that a primary lid 3 is fixed on an upper opening of a cask body 1 via a first O-ring 2 and that a secondary lid 7 is fixed on the upper opening of the cask body 1 via a second O-ring 6 to cover the first lid 3. In storage state where the radioactive substances are contained and inert gas is sealed, when detecting a leak of inert gas or radioactive substances into a space between the primary lid 3 and the secondary lid 7, the seal structure is secured by engaging a metal ring 12 via third and fourth O-rings 13, 14 to seal a space between an outside end face of an outer peripheral edge of the secondary lid 7 and an outside end face of an outer peripheral edge formed on the upper opening of the cask body 1.
