摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a manual transmission, in particular, a structure of operation mechanism thereof. SOLUTION: One fork shaft is selected from a plurality of the fork shafts 23-25 by a gear shift lever 13, in which a lever large ball part 13a formed in a part is fitted slidably in a holding hole 11a provided in a casing 10 and which is supported rockably around a selection center line O1 and a shift center line O2 intersecting each other perpendicularly. A transmission gear is changed by reciprocating the selected fork shaft. A detent mechanism A, which consists of a plurality of recessed portions 15a-15c formed on the external surface of the lever large ball at a predetermined intervals along the circumference intersecting a first plane P1 which intersects the shift center line perpendicularly and an engagement member 16 held by the casing retractably from the inner surface of the holding hole and pressed elastically to the recessed portions, is provided between the casing and the transmission gear. Desirably, the recessed portions are recessed grooves which extend in the direction almost perpendicular to the first plane and have a rising portion becoming shallower gradually toward one end thereof.
