PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods for the production of interferon-βpolypeptides by bacterial cells. SOLUTION: In the method for the production of interferon-βpolypeptides by bacterial cells, cells capable of producing IFN-βpolypeptide are cultured under conditions that induce increased production of IFN-βpolypeptide.
