<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bathtub device capable of sufficiently relaxing the muscles of a bathing person. <P>SOLUTION: In the bathtub device 11, the inner wall surface on the back side of a bathtub 2 is composed of an inclined face 2b inclined relative to the vertical direction and a vertical face 2c more perpendicular than the inclined face 2b. The vertical face 2c is disposed continuously below the inclined face 2b, and accordingly, a recess 2d is formed with a bottom face 2a and the vertical face 2c. The bathtub device 11 also has an advancing part 3 on the inclined face 2b. The advancing part 3 can be displaced between a standard state in which the front surface is approximately flushed with the inclined face 2b and an advanced state in which the advancing part is advanced more inward into the bathtub 2 than in the standard state.
