<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display a recently built landmark such as a convenience store on a screen based on navigation data without waiting for update of the navigation data. <P>SOLUTION: A route extracting means 134 of the navigation system 1, using a route conversion table 82, extracts attribute information specific to the route corresponding to a reading position of a printed matter 5 by a portable input device 4. A landmark extracting means 134, using a landmark table 83, extracts attribute information of the landmark corresponding to the extracted attribute information specific to the route.
