PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the scrapping device of a recording medium cassette, which can disassemble the recording medium cassette such as an FD to respective constitution elements by handle operation of one time though it has compact, simple, light, and inexpensive constitution to such an extent that it can be installed on a table. SOLUTION: The device is provided with a base 2 provided with a setting face 2a supporting one side face of the recording medium cassette, a breaking member 5 breaking (cutting, destroying) a fixed part by elevating with respect to the other plane of the recording medium cassette set on the set face, and an elevation mechanism 10 elevating the breaking member.
