PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an autonomous travelling device for detecting an obstacle and not causing a detection delay even when a device main body of the device moves along a wall. SOLUTION: A control means 5 changes an amplification degree of an amplification means 8 for a preset period after a transmission means 4 transmits ultrasonic waves. Thereby, since changing setting of the amplification degree of the amplification means 8 in response to an operation mode (in a wall side operation mode and operation mode other than this) of the main body 1, the device may detect an obstacle at the wall without delay even when the main body 1 moves along the wall.
