PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare an ultra-fine grain polymer having a substance conversion function by a disproportionation reaction of a side chain functional group, i.e. prepare an ultra-fine grain polymer having a substance conversion function which is applicable to the manufacture of sensors, drugs, cosmetics, dyes, coatings and the like. SOLUTION: The ultra-fine spherical grain polymer which is spherical, has a size of several tens of nanometer and functions as an oxidant and a reductant at the same time is prepared by reacting a copolymer having an oxidation/reduction system-forming moiety as a side chain functional group with an acid.
