PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a quality of an image of the printing result from being deteriorated caused by remaining of wiping of ink sticking to a region with poor water repellency when a recording head has two regions with different water repellency. SOLUTION: A nozzle face 17 and a gas exhausting face 18 are provided on the undersurface 126 of the recording head 39. A nozzle 60 for delivering the ink is formed on the nozzle face 17. A port 58 is formed on the gas exhausting face 18. Air is exhausted and the ink is made to flow out of this port 58. The gas exhausting face 18 on which the port 58 is formed has poorer water repellency than that of the nozzle face 17. A wiper blade is relatively moved to the recording head 39 under a condition that it is brought into contact with the nozzle face 17 or the gas exhausting face 18. In this case, the wiper blade is relatively moved so that the moving speed during coming into contact with the gas exhausting face 18 is larger than the moving speed during coming into contact with the nozzle face 17.
