The passenger protective system has an airbag device (1), which is connected with a vehicle body structure (2) by a mechanical connection. The mechanical connection is formed partly as a form-fit, detachable sliding connection (3). The sliding connection is designed in such a manner that an engaging element (4) is engaged in the area of the sliding connection in a receiving device (5). The engaging elements are adjusted in a direction (10), relative to the receiving devices along the surface of the vehicle body structure in a mounting position (7). An independent claim is also included for an airbag device for a passenger protective system.
