<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airbag device for protecting the knee capable of smoothly deploying and inflating an airbag stored in a column cover even when the arrangement position of the column cover is longitudinally and vertically adjusted. <P>SOLUTION: In the airbag device M1 for protecting the knee, an airbag 61 is folded to a lower part 16a side in a column cover 16, and stored therein. The airbag 61 is projected by pushing and opening a door part 34 of the column cover. A door part 35 to constitute the door part 34 abuts a rear edge 36 side before the opening on a rear face 12 of an instrument panel 7 or a lower edge 11a at a peripheral edge 11 of a storage opening 10 on the rear face 12 side at the opening to close a rear side of a space H for movement so as to prevent entry of the airbag 61 during the deployment and inflation in the space H for movement between an outer circumferential surface 18 of the movement-adjusted column cover and the lower edge 11a at the peripheral edge 11 of the storage opening 10 of the instrument panel 7. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
