<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for estimating machining dimensions of a machine tool, which reduces waste of a workpiece caused when machining dimensions exceed tolerances, by estimating the machining dimensions before machining the workpiece. <P>SOLUTION: In the machine tool having a tool Y rotatably driven by a driving machine X, amounts of characteristics of output of a vibration sensor 2 closely attached to the driving device X are given to a competitive learning neural network 1. After learning of the competitive learning neural network 1, learning data are inputted again, and an Euclidean distance between an excited neuron and the learning data is registered in a converting portion 6 corresponding to the machining dimensions of the workpiece when the learning data are obtained. In an inspection mode, a Euclidean distance between inspection data and the excited neuron is given to the converting portion 6, and the machining dimensions of the workpiece are estimated. For the learning data and the inspection data, the amounts of characteristics obtained from the output of the vibration sensor 2 while the tool Y is attached to the driving device X and made to idle, are used. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
