<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration damping member capable of damping the vibration of a handrail element, having cross sectional shape or dimension matching different handrail elements, and efficiently installable on the handrail element. <P>SOLUTION: This vibration damping member for damping the vibration of the handrail element has a body having a projecting edge at one end and formed of an elastic body, a hole extending from the one end to the other end through the body, and a nut installed at the other end of the body and aligned with the hole. The body is so disposed in at least one opened end of the handrail element at an interval from the end inner surface. The projecting edge is disposed between the at least one end and the rail of the handrail. The body compressed by the rotation of a machine screw inserted into the hole through the rail and screwed into the nut is brought into contact with the inner surface of the handrail element. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
