PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of appropriately performing backlight correction with little noise, and to provide an image processing method. SOLUTION: Photographing is performed once at a shutter speed capable of optimally photographing the object of high luminance, photographing is performed at least once at a shutter speed capable of optimally photographing the object of low luminance, and image data of photographing at the shutter speed capable of optimally photographing the object of the high luminance and image data of photographing at the shutter speed capable of optimally photographing the object of low luminance multiplied by a prescribed coefficientαare added.
