Disclosed is a gas diffusion layer comprising a layer (2) that encompasses fibers (1). Said fibers (1) are provided in part with a coating material (3) while resting against each other at contact points (4). The layer (2) is fitted with boundary areas (5) that face the surroundings. In order to ensure optimal electrical conductivity, the inventive gas diffusion layer is characterized in that the fibers are free from coating material (3) at the contact points and/or the boundary areas. Also disclosed is a method for producing a gas diffusion layer, comprising a step in which the coating material (3) is removed in some areas and selectively from the fibers (1). |
