A system and a method for managing a domain including a plurality of devices are provided to enable a plurality of devices included in the same domain to share contents or rights, and protect the contents from illegal users by permitting the device to play the contents when domain information obtained in domain registration is received from the device. A DA(Device Authority)(40) generates a policy comprising condition for managing a domain. A DEA(Domain Enforcement Agent)(50) generates the domain based on the policy received from the DA when a domain generation request is received from one of devices(20,30), and provides information for the generated domain to the device. The device shares the contents included the domain based on the domain information received from the DEA. The policy includes condition representing whether the policy is applied to one or a plurality of domains, policy expiration, domain expiration, the maximum number of domains, domain registration condition, domain secession condition, and electronic signature condition of the DA. The DEA determines whether the policy or domain expiration is passed, and receives the upgraded policy from the DA when the expiration is passed. |
