METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR EDITING SERVICE OF TOOL BAR

A method and a device for providing a toolbar service are provided to enable a user to access a desired site easily by providing a toolbar application including information for a predetermined theme and enable the user to generate a desired interface dynamically by enabling the user to edit the toolbar. A setting file generator(206) generates a file edited by a user and including item information for defining attribute for an interface displayed in a toolbar. A file extractor(208) extracts the file when a user client requests downloading of a toolbar application. A user client communicator(200) transmits the toolbar application including the file to the user client. The toolbar application installed in the user client updates the file according to an item editing request of the user and generates the interface of the toolbar dynamically by parsing the updated file. The item information includes at least one of a type, ID, name, and icon field discriminating a type of the interface. The toolbar application updates the file by using information inputted from the user in relation with the field.
