A system for preheating a mold is provided to preheat a mold at a relatively low cost and in simple structure and workability, and secure sufficient durability of the mold by gradually heating the mold while excluding the generation of thermal stress from a mold cavity. A system for preheating a mold includes: a heating unit; a blower(1) for blowing air to the circumference of the heating unit; and an air duct for supplying the heated air to a sleeve(5) connected to a cavity of a mold(3) when air blown from the blower is heated through the heating unit. The heating unit is a gas burner(9) for burning gas to generate heat, and the circumference of the gas burner is enveloped by an air heating tank(11) constructed in such a structure that the blower and the air duct are in communication with the air heating tank from opposite positions around the air heating tank. The air duct includes a length variable part(13) with a bellows structure, and a lifter(15) installed such that an end of the air duct can be inserted into the sleeve or can be withdrawn from the sleeve.
