<p>The present invention relates to filters, particularly for filtration of water under gravity and to a process for making such filters. The invention more particularly relates to reliable filtration of particulate solids especially cysts and suspended solids in water, giving a high filtration flow rate, and which is effective for extended periods of time as compared to similar filters of the prior art. According to the invention there is provided a filter comprising layers of filtration media comprising a non-pleated layer and a pleated layer.</p> |
