Electrode arm for arc furnace

The electrode support arm has an electrode retainer provided at a front end, where the retainer has a hollow section (2), which is formed by copper and/or aluminum plated steel plates (6, 10). The hollow section has round edges (R) and the plated steel plates that form a cooling channel (4) for a cooling medium diverted into the support arm. The cooling channel cools the front end of the support arm. The round edges have a ratio of an inner curvature radius to wall thickness of the plated steel plate.
