<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a job processing method for attaining efficient and smooth printing by quantitatively controlling jobs to be transferred to a printer, while facilitating management of print data. <P>SOLUTION: When print data 201 is transmitted from a high-order host device 102 to a host device 101 connected to the printer 102 by a network, initial analysis of the print data and storage thereof to a print data management part 207 are performed by a print data management means 203. The page number of the print data is analyzed by a page number analysis means 204, and the analysis result is stored in a print data information management table 208. The data size of the print data is analyzed by a print data size analysis means 205, and the analysis result is stored in the print data information management table 208.
