<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate to handle purchased content while preventing the content from being illegally used. <P>SOLUTION: A UFD (USB Flash Disk) 1 inserted into a USB terminal of a client PC 2 records an application program and an encrypted content. The client PC 2 executes the application program read from the UFD 1 and displays a list of content recorded in the UFD 1. When a user selects predetermined content from the list, The PC 2 performs charging processing or the like with a content server 3, and the content server 3 transmits a key to be used to decrypt the content. The client PC 2 acquires the transmitted key and records the key in the UFD 1. The key recorded in the UFD 1 is used to decrypt the content when an instruction is made to reproduce the content.
