<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the time until an image is displayed from selection of a channel. <P>SOLUTION: When a user selects a channel by manipulating the operation part, a CPU 16 searches, in the step S1, whether program information regarding the program selected from a program information database is stored or not. When the target program information is stored as a result of search, the process proceeds to the step S2 and step S4. Accordingly, image processing in the steps S2 and S3 and the ordinary channel selection processing in the step S4 are executed in parallel. The time required until stable display of image from channel selection by a user can be shortened by conducting in parallel the image processing using the information regarding a kind of a video signal in the program information database and the channel selection processing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
