PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an optical lens where an optical lens having a high curvature can be produced readily at a low cost, and to provide a projector provided with the optical lens. SOLUTION: The method for producing an optical lens in which at least either face in an optical flux incident plane and an optical flux emission plane has a prescribed curvature comprises a substrate dislocation stage S2, where bending stress acts on a planar translucent substrate, so as to make the translucent substrate curved; a substrate polishing stage S3, where in the bending direction side of the curved translucent substrate and the face on the opposite side to the bending direction side, at least either face is subjected to plane polishing; and a dislocation eliminating stage S4, where the bending stress acted on the polished translucent substrate is released, and the curving of the translucent substrate is eliminated. According to this, by regulating the dislocation of the translucent substrate, an optical lens having a desired curvature can be produced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
