PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor which exhibits stable electric characteristics and can suppress occurrence of image defects such as fog, black spots and ghost even when repeatedly used. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic photoreceptor comprises a conductive substrate 1, an undercoat layer 2 formed on the conductive substrate 1 and a photosensitive layer 3 formed on the undercoat layer 2, wherein the undercoat layer 2 contains metal oxide particles, an electron accepting material and an ionic material having the same basic skeleton as the electron accepting material. The ionic material is contained in the undercoat layer 2 in an amount of 5-15 mass% based on the total amount of the electron accepting material and the ionic material. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
