PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid container which can stably maintain the quality of liquid for a longer time by preventing the evaporation of moisture in the liquid held in a liquid containing chamber, and the deterioration of the liquid quality caused by contact between the liquid and air introduced into the liquid containing chamber. SOLUTION: A thin communicating passage 360 is formed thinner than other communicating passages halfway of an atmosphere communicating path 150 which introduces the air from the outside into the liquid containing chamber 370 accompanied by the consumption of an ink I in the liquid containing chamber 370. The thin communicating passage 360 can hold at least a part of the ink I contained in the liquid containing chamber 370 by a meniscus. The ink I of a quantity that can block the ink I contained in the liquid containing chamber 370 from the atmosphere is held in the thin communicating passage 360, whereby the evaporation of the moisture in the ink in the upper liquid containing chamber 370 and the contact to the air are suppressed.
