PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that it is necessary for an operator to perform a manual input operation when any reject paper money exists, and that it is difficult to discriminate the relationship of reject paper money and transactions in processing a plurality of transactions in a batch. SOLUTION: This paper money processing apparatus 10 is provided with: a paper money accepting part 101 for accepting placed paper money; a conveyance part 202 for conveying paper money; an identification part 201 for identifying paper money; a storage part 31 for storing identification results; a recording medium accepting part 111 for accepting a recording medium 32 in which recorded information 321 is recorded; a record information reading part 112 for reading the recorded recorded information 321; and a control part 30 for controlling each part. When the recording medium 32 is accepted by a recording medium accepting part 111, recorded information 321 recorded in the recording medium 32 is read, and the recorded information 321 and the identification results of the identification part 102 are stored so as to be associated with each other in the storage part 31 under the control of a control part 30.
